In busy times parking in Port Douglas can be tight. The most popular park is Port Village which spans both Macrossan and Warner Streets (Fifth option). It is big and well known. Avoid it in busy times and especially in heavy rain.
The trickiest park is at Rex Smeal Park where there is a low ledge that is difficult to see. I know of two cars that have driven over the ledge becoming stranded, damaging their cars and creating great embarrassment.
